Monitoring of water in the natural environment
Created by decree of 2 June 2003, the Central Service of Hydrometeorology and Support to Flood Forecasting (SCHAPI ) is a service with national competence.
It is attached, within the Ministry of Ecology, Sustainable Development and Energy (MEDDE), to the Natural and Hydraulic Risks Department of the General Directorate for Risk Prevention.
The missions of the SCHAPI are the following:
Within the framework of its support mission, SCHAPI has been in charge since 2004 of the national markets for the supply of hydrometric data acquisition stations, for all SPCs and HUs. The objective is to homogenize equipment, communication protocols and practices (installation, maintenance, training, technical assistance).
The SHAPI and all the decentralized services of the state (SPC, UH...) showed and confirmed their confidence in PARATRONIC by entrusting it initially, then by renewing the exclusiveness of the supply of the hydrometric measurement stations.
Thus since 2004, it is approximately 3000 sites which were equipped with PARATRONIC materials by the various services (see below the list of the services profiting from the framework market).
Acquisition stations such as AQUA-CJ, which are modular, low-power, and multi-protocol, have been specially developed to address this type of issue: monitoring sensitive natural environments using sensors, data banking and transmission, triggering alerts, etc.
