Following the regulatory constraints concerning the self-monitoring of stormwater spillways, confirmed by the decree of 21/07/15, the organisations in charge of sanitation are obliged to continuously monitor their networks (according to the pollution load upstream of the spillways).
Within the framework of this directive, the Communauté d'Agglomération de Haguenau - Territoire de Bischwiller and the SIVOM du bassin de l'EHN have each mandated the BEREST research department (Mr. Xavier GRANDJEAN) to study their network, define the needs and draw up specifications for contracts to instrument their installations.
After the study phase, and in order to be able to send back the information daily on their remote management system, BEREST decided to recommend a remote management system equipped with radar sensors.
The measurement via a radar system was recommended because of its reliability and its high accuracy of measurement. Indeed, the measurement of overflows requires the most precise equipment, in order to be as close as possible to reality during the annual declarations. In order to reduce the cost of installation of the systems, some points were prescribed with communicating loggers, autonomous in energy as well as in their mode of communication.
This type of equipment leads to several problems: the autonomy of the system (battery life according to energy consumption, especially during acquisitions), standardization of the equipment (measurements in the weir, but also outside, to refine the calculation of discharge rates, which will vary according to the level of the receiving environment), the size of the sensor and its practicality of installation in the network.
Thanks to its experience, the SUEZ EAU FRANCE unit in Bischwiller, and its Industrial Data Processing and Automation Department in Creutzwald (Mr Thibault JESSON, Patrick PHILLIP and Patrick MALLINGER), decided to respond to the call for tenders by proposing autonomous acquisition and transmission systems equipped with PARATRONIC radars.
The radar CR 4/20 meets all the problems described below:
CRUZOE speed cameras can be used both outdoors and in networks. Their accuracy and their full large scale (up to 30 m) fully meet the requirements of the decree of 21 July 2015 regarding the self-monitoring of systems.
